ABOUT

ABOUT ALLISON

Allison is passionate about helping those who feel trapped, isolated, stifled, or stuck find a powerful and unique voice of their own. She desires to work with women, young adults and couples to help them gain a clearer perspective and experience a more authentic and purposeful life. Allison believes that each of us are uniquely created by God and hold within us great potential and immeasurable value. She believes that living with deep joy and meaning is possible and a goal worth striving for. Allison views her role as a therapist as someone who will walk beside her clients without casting any judgment and will consistently empower and support them throughout their journey of healing.

In her free time, Allison enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, hiking, painting, playing board games and reading. She is a firmly-rooted, practicing Christian, but in no way expects her clients to hold the same beliefs.

EXPERIENCE

Over her working career, Allison has had an array of experiences within pastoral, social care, youth work and therapeutic settings. Throughout her graduate degree program in Nashville, Tennessee, she interned at Thistle Farms in their residential program journeying alongside of women coming out of trauma and addiction. During her private practice post-graduation, she counselled individuals and couples from many different backgrounds and seasons of life. Since moving to Sheffield, she has worked as Youth Worker at her local church and is returning back to therapeutic work from maternity leave.

Currently, she practices out of her husband's recording studio, Balcony Recording Company in Woodseats, Sheffield. The studio is up a flight of stairs without an alternative entrance. However, if accessibility is an issue, potentially zoom sessions are an option or using a different space downstairs.
